Allie currently works at HKEX Innovation Lab, and is responsible for delivering and investing in creative business models to strengthen and grow the group’s core competencies. She has previously worked at a Shenzhen-based family office to invest in and develop onshore and cross-border business opportunities. Prior to that at UBS Hong Kong, she looked at private capital fundraising and investments in the U.S. and APAC technology space. Allie received her Bachelor's degree at UC Berkeley and is actively involved in the Hong Kong alumni chapter.
Austin R. Bryan joined CLP Holdings in May 2016 as Senior Director – Innovation, leading the company’s innovation & ventures strategy in the face of challenges presented by digital disruption. He is also a Director of various subsidiary companies of the CLP Group. Austin has been a pioneer of new services and value creation in the digital media sector for the past 10 years and is a globally recognised leader in transforming business activities in the financial and telecommunications sectors.
His experience spans the creation of the first direct banking activities in Germany in the early 1990s, the introduction of virtual customer service platforms for American Express and creation of the first 3G multi-media mobile network in Australia with “3 Mobile”. Most recently he was Vice President of Strategic Innovation at Singtel Optus, in which he led the acquisition of major digital media projects and created a US$1 billion digital media business developing and implementing new digital products and services.
Chibo has been investing in early stage companies in the technology and media sectors in China for over a decade. He is head of the Hong Kong office and manages the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, for which Gobi is the General Partner. He has led investments in numerous companies including Airwallex, Welab, Urban Revivo, DayDayCook, Aqumon, and Sandbox VR. He has been recognized in the industry as Venture Capitalist of the Year in Hong Kong in 2017, and as a Global Top 25 Rising Star by the Global Corporate Venturing and Innovation Forum in 2019.
Chibo started his career as a strategy consultant with Monitor Group, working on projects across the ASEAN and MENA regions. He also spent time at Robert Bosch, where he was Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy in Asia Pacific.
Chibo received his B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard College. He served on the Board of the Harvard Club of Shanghai for over 6 years, and still travels frequently between Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Jaff has more than 17 years of commercial banking experience in various areas including strategy implementation, product development, cross-border collaboration and client coverage. Currently Director of Innovative Business & Growth, his team drives the Commercial Banking’s ecosystem strategy. One of his key objectives is to drive the bank’s proactive engagement with the innovation & technology ecosystem builders, with an ultimate goal to help aspiring entrepreneurs and startups to realize their hopes and dreams by offering them with the right banking and beyond banking solutions at the right time.
Jaff is currently a committee member of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. He graduated from Imperial College of London with a MEng degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Jayne Chan is Head of StartmeupHK at InvestHK, the government department responsible for attracting and retaining Foreign Direct Investment into Hong Kong. StartmeupHK is InvestHK’s startup division established in 2014, aimed at attracting innovative startups, investors and other stakeholders to Hong Kong, provide a one-stop service platform to support these companies setting up in the city, promote Hong Kong as a premier startup destination and help build our ecosystem to transform the city into a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The StartmeupHK Festival is one of the key platforms organised by the team to attract international startup communities to Hong Kong, to share and network with local innovators, corporates and showcase the city’s success stories. The annual event in January 2018 attracted over 6,000 participants, and representation from over 40 countries, with events in key sectors where Hong Kong has distinct competitive advantages, namely financial technology (fintech), Internet of thing (IOT), health technology, retail technology and smart city.
Prior to joining InvestHK, Jayne was Executive Director at the HK chapter of TiE, a global non-profit network focused on fostering entrepreneurship in the markets in which they operate, and management roles at advertising & digital agencies, startup incubator, management consulting and manufacturing companies.
Chief Operating Officer at Innovation Lab, HKEX Jeff is the Chief Operating Officer of Innovation Lab at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and is responsible for the effective management of the Lab, including people and financial strategy, governance and operations. Jeff also leads initiatives to build innovation culture within HKEX. Prior to joining HKEX, Jeff has held various positions in Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Barclays Capital.
Jeff holds a BSc degree in Statistics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also a Certified Financial Risk Manager and a Certified Internal Auditor.
Kshitij Karundia (KK) is a senior director in Ant Financial’s investment team. As part of his mandate, he is also the co-founder and managing partner of BAce Capital, an early stage venture capital firm, focussed on emerging markets, primarily India and SE
Prior to his current role, KK was the head of Alibaba’s strategic investment responsible for SEA and India. He led Alibaba’s investment in Bigbasket, XpressBees, Lazada, Tokopedia, and Paytm.
Prior to joining Alibaba, KK was a banker with institutions such as Citi, Rothschild, and Goldman Sachs and was part of the banking team that led the US IPO of Alibaba in 2014 and the HK IPO of Alibaba’s B2B business in 2007.
Lukas is Managing Director and Head of Innovation Lab of HKEX, where he looks for creative business models and disruptive technology innovations that can deliver value and open new opportunities for HKEX. During his career, he has been involved in many of the initiatives that have broken new ground for Hong Kong's markets, including the acquisition of London Metal Exchange; Shanghai & Shenzhen Stock Connect; China Bond Connect; and the 2018's listing reform. Prior to HKEX, Lukas was an investment banker at Rothschild London and Hong Kong.
Polly is the Technology, Media and Telecom Industry Leader of Southern China Region of Deloitte China. Polly has actively involved in a number of Hong Kong and state-owned enterprises listings in different stock exchanges in the United States of America, Canada and Hong Kong, including a state-owned enterprise in telecommunication industry. She has extensive experience serving clients with multiple locations and monitoring regional coordination.
Polly is a Member of Professional Development Committee and Member of Registration and Practising Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”). She is a member of Zonta Club of Hong Kong and a full member of Association of Women Accountants of Hong Kong to help to advance the status of women in Hong Kong through services and advocacy, and to raise the interest of woman accountants in the accountancy profession and in business.
Suzanne Cheng has been Chief Financial Officer of the Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited since 2012. She is a qualified accountant with membership of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ms Cheng holds a Master of Science degree in Finance. She has more than 21 years of experience in accounting and finance for corporate and banking sectors.
