Corie McDougall is the Director, International Business Growth, at the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. She has been with the Ministry for 11 years and currently leads the team responsible for supporting Ontario’s exporters through the provision of advisory services, educational seminars, and the development and delivery of international business missions around the world.
Prior to joining the Ministry, Corie worked in telecommunications for Rogers (in Canada) and Ericsson (in Sweden and the US), and on two separate occasions as a Singapore-based consultant for Intercedent Asia, delivering market entry strategies within their consulting & research practice. Over the past 20 years, Corie has lived, worked and studied in Asia, Europe and North America.
Corie has a degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business.

周駱美琪女士自2015年起擔任阿里巴巴香港創業者基金執行董事。周女士於2007年加入阿里巴巴集團,曾擔任阿里巴巴國際高級財務董事,主要負責集團財務管理和企業規劃。在加入阿里巴巴集團前,周女士曾於香港多間上市公司任職,負責融資、企業規劃和財務報告方面的工作。周女士為一名註冊會計師並擁有工商管理碩士學位。周女士更委任為創新、科技及再工業化委員會非官方委員,同時積極參與多間青少年發展機構的義務工作。周女士希望透過阿里巴巴香港創業者基金創立不同項目,致力幫助香港的創業家和青年人於充滿活力的城市中實踐他們的夢想。

Duncan is the Chair of Deloitte Canada and Chile. Duncan is also a member of the Deloitte Global Board including a member of the Governance, Risk and Information Security Oversight Committees. He also attends the Deloitte US Board and the US firm’s Strategy Committee.
Duncan is passionate about growing and developing those around him, and building a better future for Canada and Chile. His deepest belief is that leadership is about rolling up your sleeves and getting to work on shared challenges. Throughout his career, Duncan has focused on the future of Canada and the impact that business leaders can have to shape outcomes for the benefit of our communities.
Over his 31-year career, his professional activities include serving clients who are global institutional investors, public and private family owned global businesses in the mining, telecommunication, consumer business, manufacturing and real estate and construction industries, as well as national and regional governments. Prior to his role as Chair, Duncan held leadership roles as the local Director of Audit and then Managing Partner of Edmonton, the Regional Managing Partner of British Columbia, and the Vice Chair and inaugural Dean of Deloitte University North responsible for thought leadership, public policy, major sponsorship programs and leadership development nationwide.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Duncan is an active member in the community and currently serves as Chair of the Long Term Investment Organization and he Chairs the Governance Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and Board of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Projects Centre at Stanford University, the Lazaridis Institute at Wilfred Laurier University, the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and the Board of Governors of Junior Achievement of Central Ontario. He was previously a member of the Board of the United Way of the Lower Mainland and the Board of Governors of the BC Business Council.

Ellis Odynn champions the title of Canada’s first Chief AI Officer. Ellis is the Executive Director and Chief AI Officer of the Digital Finance Institute (DFI), a global technology think tank. In this capacity, she heads the Institute’s key initiatives — from building partnerships, supporting innovation development, growing the Canadian FinTech & AI communities, and managing international affairs.
Ellis has fully immersed herself in the tech world. Ellis is the Producer and Co-host of the Let’s Tech Podcast, the Founder and Executive Producer of Canada FinTech Week, a financial technology festival, the Executive Producer of Canada’s annual FinTech & AI Awards, and the host of both North America’s global Artificial Intelligence forum the AI World Forum and Canada’s National FinTech conference, FinTech Canada. Ellis Odynn is a prominent figure in the global FinTech and AI ecosystem. She is a frequent speaker at international conferences and has spoken at the Financial Action Task Force on financial crime risks of FinTech, at APEC on law and AI, and at ACAMS on FinTech issues and financial crime, among others.
When she isn’t uniting the AI industry, Ellis dedicates her time to running a charitable organization that brings education, security and inclusion to refugee girls in Africa and the Middle East.

Ivan is a Consultant for Invest Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) agency dedicated to promoting inward investment in Hong Kong.
Ivan specializes in investment promotion and facilitation. He provides sector-by-sector information, advice and assistance to facilitate Canadian companies in setting up and expanding their business in Hong Kong. Invest Hong Kong in Canada is based in the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Toronto.
The HKETO is the permanent representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG). The HKETO’s mission is to represent the HKSARG in strengthening the economic, trade, investment and cultural ties between Hong Kong and Canada.
Ivan has over 14 years of experience in operations, international sales and marketing in Hong Kong and the Asia market.

Jake Deutsch is an Innovation Lead at DSpace, Deloitte Canada’s corporate innovation lab that is focused on solving business problems with emerging technology. Responsible for managing the project pipeline at DSpace, Jake frames problems, assesses the desirability, viability, and feasibility of new ideas while coaching stakeholders on lean startup and human-centred design methodologies. Jake holds a Master of Business, Entrepreneurship, & Technology from the University of Waterloo.

With almost 20 years of financial services experience, much of it in the SME sector, Jeff Brown is currently the Head of Retail Business Banking at HSBC Bank Canada. In this role, Jeff oversees the development and execution of HSBC’s Small Business strategy. Prior to joining HSBC, Jeff was Vice President of Retail Banking at Meridian Credit Union, where he led a very successful branch expansion strategy in the GTA. Jeff graduated with his MBA from Laurier, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Financial Planner designations.

Joseph, based in Hong Kong and Canada, he works at the crossroads of business execution and strategic development both as an investor and operator since 2002. He is the Managing Partner of Saltagen Ventures (a corporate partner of CDL-West), managing a portfolio of USD 400MM+ on education, media, finance, property development and technology investment.
He actively focuses on bringing in the public policy support from Canada and Hong Kong to help start ups successfully expand growth opportunities on an international level. A notable responsibility includes the role of Special Advisor of Hong Kong (ABLAC) for the Asia Pacific Foundation, a think tank that directly advises Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Joseph is also the faculty advisor of the University of British Columbia, along with being a committee board member of China’s Maritime Silk Road trade initiative.
Prior to leading Saltagen Ventures, Joseph served at Citigroup Alternative Investments and at Morgan Stanley in the buy-side divisions. Thereafter, he drove the expansion of Hong Kong’s largest quad-play media company, PCCW Media, in developing their overseas content acquisition and broadcasting departments.

Mrs. Ling Loerchner is working at the University of Waterloo, Ontario Canada as the Chief Commercialization Officer, Asia Managing Director. She is responsible for the international research collaboration, innovation management, entrepreneurship and commercialization with focus in Asian market. She is responsible to create spin-off companies from UW technology portfolio, and help the spin-off companies seeking for venture capital and angel investment. In recent years, she initiated and created 3 early stage investment funds, with the collaboration with several Asia VC firms, institutes and high-tech parks. She serves as one of the Investment Committee members for these venture investment funds. She has been served as board member on several UW spin-off companies. Mrs. Loerchner is an active annual conference program committee member of Association of University Technology Management (AUTM), and a member of Licensing Executive Society (LES). She is the AUTM Canada Committee member and the Chair of Training and Professional Development subcommittee. For the last 3 years, she has been invited to be one of the judge panelists for Shenzhen Business competitions, Shanghai Business Competitions and LES business Plan Competition. She has been frequently invited as panel discussion moderator and keynote speaker for the international technology transfer, entrepreneurship education and early stage Venture Investment topics.
Before her academic innovation leadership role, she had an over 15 year’s career in industry of information technology management and product development. Mrs. Loerchner also spent several years in Silicon Valley, California working for Cisco Systems and start-ups, and helped start-up companies fund raising from VC communities. Mrs. Loerchner is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and served as Director of Professional Development at the PMI local chapter.
In addition to her responsibilities at UW, Mrs. Loerchner also teaches in the School of Business at local University and College. Mrs. Loerchner has been served as the Senior Adviser for the Mayor of the City of Waterloo and in charge of the city's Innovation management and Asia strategy.
Mrs. Loerchner received a Certificate of VC Business training at the NVCA and Stanford Law School, and the VC Academy Certificate issued by NVCA and UC Berkeley Law School. She has a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, an MSc degree from University of Waterloo and an MBA from Laurier University.

Mohan Markandaier is a serial entrepreneur with multiple successful exits. He co-founded his first company Pulse Voice in 1996, where as the CEO, his focus was on Sales and Marketing with responsibility for overall strategic vision and growth of the company.
Currently, as the Managing Partner at Good News Ventures, Mohan is actively involved in providing capital and mentorship to early and mid-stage companies in the high growth technology space. He also serves on the Board of Directors for York Angel Investors. Mohan graduated from University of Toronto with a degree in Engineering.

Ozan is an active investors and serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of international experience within the angel investment, venture capital and private equity sectors. Based out of Silicon Valley during the first dotcom boom in the 1990’s, Ozan worked closely with Fortune 1000 companies in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Toronto, Hamburg, Stockholm, London and Istanbul. Ozan later acted as General Partner in various angel investment and private equity practices.
He is currently the President of Keiretsu Forum Canada, the world’s largest angel investment network operating on four continents. The global network specializes in syndication of deals and invested over $84 million USD into 180 early stage companies in 2018 alone.
Ozan also holds a Partner position in Trendwell Ventures Inc., a Toronto based boutique M&A practice. He actively participates in portfolio investment decisions and helps technology enabled companies scale through hands-on management toward exit transactions.
Ozan received his MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco – McLaren School of Business in 1998 and holds a double major in Economics & Political Science from the University of Western Ontario (1994). He speaks English, Turkish and French.

Norm leads the Deloitte DSpace Innovation Labs in Waterloo Region. The labs create digital prototypes that are used to identify and validate new product and service value propositions now possible because of emerging technologies such as blockchain, machine learning, and IoT. The labs challenge partners and clients to think differently about innovation, the problems they are trying to solve, and value creation in this new economic environment.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Norm worked as mentor at the Laurier LaunchPad Program and co-founded two technology companies. As a founder, he was responsible for leading teams through early stage technology product development, customer development, and fundraising, resulting in viable and sustainable businesses. Norm is a graduate of the computer engineering program at the University of Waterloo and holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is passionate about creating and growing new product ventures.
